Waynesville man, arrested in TN for possessing hundreds of illegal firearms sentenced

A Waynesville man, arrested in TN for possessing hundreds of illegal firearms has learned his fate. The US District Attorney’s Office, ATF and Haywood County Sheriff’s Office announced in an update that Jacob Ryan McClure, 25, entered a guilty plea Thursday and was given a 33 month prison sentence. According to court documents McClure was stopped in Haywood County in July 2022, and sheriff’s deputies found 97 illegal “Glock switches,” four “ghost guns,” a Glock firearm, an unregistered 9mm rifle, 10 firearm silencers and $3,000 in cash. Police also found several firearms in his TN rental cabin, including converted machine guns, an unregistered silencer, narcotics, and over $10,000.
