The Sylva Rotary Club worked with Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Sylva Saturday September 24th to clean up the “Rotary Island.” Lowe’s Home Improvement donated $3,000 of tools, mulch, and flowers through their Lowes for Heroes Program to the Rotary Club of Sylva. Volunteers from Lowes joined more than 20 members of the Rotary Club of Sylva Noon Club and Rotary of Sylva Satellite Club on a rainy Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. to beautify the “Rotary Island.” The “Rotary Island” is an ongoing project of the Rotary Club of Sylva to beautify Jackson County’s busiest intersection. This service project was started in 1984 by Dr. Ralph Morgan.
