WNC is getting a helping hand transforming underserved communities. Rural Transformation Grants authored by the Southwestern Commission will ring in $2.66M for WNC Region A for infrastructure improvements in rural communities, including a $600,000 grant to support the Town of Bryson City’s construction of a streetscape project on Main Street, with the goal of increasing tourism. In addition, Cherokee County was awarded $550,000 that will support the acquisition of 27.58-acre wooded property to be marketed for economic development purposes. Another grant cycle will open in Spring 2023, and the Southwestern Commission is ready to help! If your community would like assistance.
