Potential Swain Youth Center Gains Momentum

The effort to create a youth center in Swain County continues to gain momentum. Advocates for the facility meth with Commissioners on Tuesday top share countywide survey results, information from a needs assessment, the benefits of having a safe place for adolescents and youth to go after school and other times, rather than being left alone. The Commissioners agreed to hear more at their next meeting in September and possibly appoint a committee to explore funding resources.
