Tuckasegee Man Charged In Shooting

A judge sentenced Kenneth McCall to serve in prison a minimum of 23 years up to a maximum of 30 years.

A dispute about a pig that escalated into attempted murder led to a Tuckasegee man being ordered last Thursday to serve at least 23 years in prison, District Attorney Ashley Welch said. A Jackson County Superior Court jury returned a verdict of guilty on four charges against Kenneth McCall, 68. The shooting occurred near the entrance to Pinhook Valley Campground on Charleys Creek Road, where prosecutors argured Kenneth McCall shot William McCall, 39, during a fight between the two about free-ranging pigs the elder McCall said was rooting up and damaging the family owned Pinhook Valley Campground. Judge Brad Letts sentenced Kenneth McCall to serve a minimum of 23 years up to a maximum of 30 years in prison.
