NCDOT, state and local officials gathered in Graham County last week for the Corridor K groundbreaking. This project aims to improve the mobility and safety in western North Carolina. It will feature a corridor with wider shoulders and climbing lanes, a new multiuse path and a land bridge constructed over a highway to provide safe passage in the area for wildlife and hikers. When it’s complete, the bridge will be one of the largest land bridges east of the Rocky Mountains.
