A Monday afternoon crash involving a tractor-trailer left it hanging off the exit 85 overpass and prompted authorities to shut down one side of Highway 74 near Sylva.
Jackson County Emergency Management responded to a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Monday, Oct. 24, on the on-ramp at exit 85.
NCDOT said the wreck cleared around 4:45 p.m. after debris was cleared off the roadway.
Part of the trailer of the overturned truck could be seen hanging off of the overpass earlier Monday, with some of its contents on the four-lane highway below.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, traffic was diverted to Skyland Drive and Steeple Drive. Traffic was also diverted through the downtown streets of Sylva.
