The new Angel Medical Center in Franklin is entering the final construction phase and is expected to be open for patients in September. The 82,500 square feet building will contain thirty patient rooms, three operating rooms and twenty medical surgical beds with five observation beds, one endoscopy suite, and a 17 bed emergency room which will include three behavioral health beds. CEO Clint Kendall said the new sixty eight million dollar state of the art medical facility will offer the most up to date clinical services and integrate the latest wireless technology available and will require the amount of electricity equivalent to that used by about 200 homes. The facility will also be the permanent home for the air ambulance MAMA Two in association with Mission Hospital In Asheville. The New Angel Medical Center is located on US Highway 64 adjacent to the corporate office of the former Macon Bank.
