Name of Sylva Woman Killed In Tractor Accident Released

The name of a Sylva woman killed in an accident involving a farm tractor nearly 2 weeks ago has been made public. Sylva police said the victim identified as, Alberta Woods was riding on the tractor with an attached trailer when it overturned on steep terrain Nov. 11 in the area of 246 Elm St.. The 62 year old, who was one of two passengers on the tractor-trailer, was taken to Harris Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Sylva Police Chief Chris Hatton said, officers identified the operator of the tractor as Ivan Nicholas Knight, 40. Jennifer Lynn Knight, 41, who was riding on the vehicle as well, was also hurt in the wreck. No criminal charges have been filed, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
